AUDITION INFORMATION
Your child will have the opportunity to audition for a role in Artistocats, Kids the week of August 18th during their class time. This is not optional, but is required if your child would like to sing or speak alone (solo). We will go over EVERYTHING in class this week, so they should come home with some knowledge of this.
There are 3 parts to the auditions.
1) SLATE
They will say "Hi, my name is _________ and I would like to be considered for the roles of _______, ________, ______, etc. (There is a cast breakdown in the script and while the movie is different than this musical version and not all characters are in the musical, it will give them an idea of the characters. They can also say, I would like to sing with the group. I am or am not comfortable singing or speaking by myself.
2) SING
They will sing the audition cut of "Prologue / Ariostocats". THe cut starts at the top of page 6 at measure 186 "Some cats end up...." through the end of the song.
We are doing a shorter version of the song and this will be the first song they work on once the show is cast. Please have them start learning the "Olivia Edit" version of this song. I have linked the tracks below since you are learning to navigate the Google Drive, etc...but they are in the google drive on the website as well (at the bottom of the song list). Please have them rehearse WITH and WITHOUT guide vocals. They will use the Performance Track for the audition.
Prologue / Aristocats (OLIVIA EDIT) Rehearsal Track (with guide vocals)
Prologue / Aristocats (OLIVIA EDIT) Performance Track (without guide vocals)
3) ACTING
Your child should memorize ONE of the following lines. They are just saying these lines, it doesn't not indicate that they are auditioning for this part.

ATTENDANCE
Attendance is extremely important as we add new material to the show each week. If you know your child has an unavoidable conflict, please let us know ASAP via email to Ms. Vanessa so that we can work the rehearsal schedule around that. We would hate to schedule your child's BIG number only to find out that they won't be attending that day. Each student and every rehearsal are important. The expectation is that they are working on lines and music at home always, but that in no way replaces what is done with the full cast in rehearsal.
GENERAL NTS INFO…..
DROP OFF / PICK UP
We are located at 106 Page Road, behind the Shell Station. We open the doors at your class / rehearsal time.
DROP OFF...Please ALWAYS PARK IN A PARKING SPACE, we do not have a hook up line. Once you have parked you may walk your child to the door, or they may walk themselves if you feel they are capable and safe.
PICK UP...Please ALWAYS PARK IN A PARKING SPACE, we do not have a hook up line. Once you have parked you may meet your child on the front porch. We do not want children running into a dark parking lot to meet parents. Older students may walk to their cars, but most students will need a parent to meet them on the porch.
